We all have stuff we don't need anymore — furniture, electronics, clothes, things gathering dust. It's too good to bin, but too much hassle to sell for a few quid. What if you could list it on an auction site and the money went to a charity you care about?
That's BidForGood — an online charity auction platform where sellers give items away, buyers bid on them, and 100% of the winning bid goes to a charity chosen by the seller. BidForGood will be a registered UK charity — existing to do good, not to make a profit. It will cover its running costs through a small fee added on top for the buyer. We're based in Sheffield, launching this September, and expanding from there.

🏛️ BidForGood will be a UK charity (registering as a CIO) — not a tech startup, not a company. It will be run by volunteers, every penny will be accounted for in public charity accounts, and it will exist for one reason: to raise money for good causes through the power of reuse.
Because most of us never get round to it. BidForGood makes the donation automatic and the listing takes 60 seconds.
Before we open to everyone, a small group gets to use BidForGood first — listing, bidding, and raising money for the charities they love. Add your email and you're on the list: first access the moment it's ready, ahead of our September launch.
We'll email you the moment early access opens, well ahead of our September launch. Know someone who'd love this?
Your email is stored securely on UK servers, never shared and never sold. Ask us to delete it anytime at hello@bidforgood.org.uk. BidForGood intends to register as a UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
BidForGood will be a registered UK charity (registering as a CIO) — 100% of every winning bid goes to the seller's chosen charity, always.
We intend to create opportunities for people from disadvantaged communities and those facing barriers to employment.
Buyers see exactly where every penny goes at checkout. Once we're registered, our charity accounts and trustee board will be fully public.
We'll use AI to make listing easier and keep costs low — helping our team do more, never replacing them.
"Every item has value. Let's make sure that value goes where it matters."
BidForGood isn't just for individuals clearing out their garage — it's designed for anyone who has something to give.
Decluttering? Moving house? Got stuff gathering dust? List it on BidForGood and turn it into a donation to a charity you care about. You choose the charity, the buyer pays, and every penny of the winning bid goes to your chosen cause.
Charities can list their own donated goods — the items that don't fit in the shop, the bulky furniture, the one-off donations. Proceeds go straight back to the charity. A new sales channel for items charity shops can't handle.
Surplus stock, old office furniture, ex-display items, gift vouchers — businesses can donate items and choose which charity benefits. Great for CSR, great for the planet, and every listing carries a "Donated by [Your Business]" credit. Free advertising for a good cause.
